August is the month of the Baja California Wine Festivals (Las Fiestas de la Vendimia).  The month-long festival is held in the Guadalupe Valley (Valle de Guadalupe) and in Ensenada and is hosted by some of the wineries, restaurants and other establishments of the region.  Throughout the month, many of the wineries and other establishments hold private events while others are open for walk-in and organized tours.  The last weekend of the festival concludes with a free public event held in and around the Santo Tomás Winery in downtown Ensenada.
